Who We Are
We’re Chase and Kristin Mendoza, a husband-and-wife team raising our three children in Woodstock, Connecticut. Family Intent grew out of our shared calling to help families and churches cultivate faith that is lived, taught, and stewarded in the home.
Kristin grew up in Rhode Island and always felt drawn toward motherhood and caregiving. With a background in occupational therapy, she brings a passion for hands-on, engaging learning experiences that help children and families grow together in faith.
Chase grew up in Washington State and did not come from a Christian home. Learning to form a Christ-centered family has therefore been an intentional and ongoing journey—one shaped by discipleship, pastoral ministry, and lived obedience. He pastors a small but vibrant church while working full-time in the IT field, and he brings his experience in teaching, photography, and design into the development of Family Intent resources.
Together, our family seeks to live what we teach—learning, growing, and stewarding faith in the midst of real life.

Our Journey So Far
This work emerged from the conviction that faith is most deeply formed in the home and lived out through everyday decisions. In a time marked by distraction, busyness, and instability, we recognized the need for biblically grounded formation that helps families remain rooted in Christ.
What began as shared teaching and simple resources has grown into a ministry focused on stewardship, discipleship, and generational faithfulness. Along the way, our understanding has been shaped by Scripture, pastoral ministry, and walking with families who desire to live faithfully in the present while preparing for the future.
Our journey has clarified not only what we do, but why we do it—and what we believe anchors it all.
What We Believe
Our convictions flow directly from our journey and guide everything we teach and create.
The Authority of Scripture
We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16–17). Scripture is the foundation for faith, family, and discipleship, and it shapes both our teaching and our understanding of life under the lordship of Jesus Christ.
The Home as the First Place of Discipleship
We believe parents are the primary disciplers of their children (Deuteronomy 6:6–7). Faith is not formed only in church settings but through everyday conversations, prayer, Scripture reading, and intentional rhythms within the home.
The Gospel at the Center
We believe Jesus is the Messiah and King, sent to fulfill God’s promises and establish His Kingdom. Through His life, death, and resurrection, He has conquered sin and death, offering forgiveness, reconciliation, and new life to all who repent and believe (Mark 1:14–15; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4).
Salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through faith, and it leads us into a life of discipleship under the reign of Christ (Ephesians 2:8–9; Matthew 28:18–20).
The Role of the Local Church
We believe Christian families flourish within the life of the local church (Hebrews 10:24–25). The church is God’s design for worship, community, and spiritual growth, and we encourage every family to actively participate in a biblically faithful church. This ministry exists to support and complement the church, not replace it.
