Welcome to Family Intent! We are so glad you found us. This ministry was born out of our own journey of learning how to integrate faith into our home—building a Gospel-centered family while navigating the joys and challenges of everyday life.
We know firsthand that raising children in the Lord isn’t always easy, and sometimes, you just need practical tools to help make discipleship part of your daily rhythms. That’s why we created Family Intent—a nonprofit ministry dedicated to equipping families and churches with resources that bring biblical truth into the heart of the home.
Who We Are
The Mendoza Family
We’re Chase and Kristin Mendoza, a husband-and-wife team raising our three children in Woodstock, Connecticut, while pursuing the calling God has placed on our hearts—to equip families and churches with Gospel-centered resources that strengthen faith in the home.
Kristin grew up in Rhode Island and always dreamed of being a mother. With a background in occupational therapy, she is passionate about creating engaging, hands-on learning experiences that help children and families grow in faith together.
Chase grew up in Washington State and didn’t come from a Christian home, so learning to cultivate a Christ-centered family has been an intentional, ongoing journey. He pastors a small but vibrant church and works full-time in the IT sector, using his photography and website design skills to help bring Family Intent to life.

Why We Started Family Intent
As we began to raise our children, we realized how important it was to establish a firm spiritual foundation at home. But we also saw that many parents—ourselves included—often struggled with how to make faith a natural and consistent part of family life.
The more we searched for resources, the more we saw a need for simple, engaging, and Gospel-centered tools to help parents disciple their children in a way that wasn’t overwhelming. That’s when Family Intent was born.
What We Believe
The Authority of Scripture
We believe that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17). It is the foundation for faith, family, and discipleship. Everything we teach and create is grounded in biblical truth.
The Home as the First Place of Discipleship
We believe that parents are the primary disciplers of their children (Deuteronomy 6:6-7). Faith should not just be something practiced at church but woven into the everyday rhythms of family life—through conversations, prayer, Scripture reading, and intentional teaching.
The Gospel is the Center
We believe that Jesus is the Messiah and King, sent to fulfill God’s promises and establish His Kingdom on earth. Through His life, death, and resurrection, He has conquered sin and death, offering forgiveness, reconciliation, and new life to all who repent and believe in Him (Mark 1:14-15, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through faith, and leads us into a life of discipleship under the reign of Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9, Matthew 28:18-20).
The Role of the Local Church
We believe that Christian families thrive within the local church community (Hebrews 10:24-25). The church is God’s design for gathering, worship, and spiritual growth, and we encourage every family to actively participate in a biblically faithful church.
